Unique Celebrant
The Process - (The Journey to your Wedding)
1. We meet

Selecting the right Celebrant is crucial to your day, average Celebrant equals average day at best. Facetime is better than nothing but face to face is best. Pick somebody that understands your needs and has the experience to make your day work. You don't have to eat the cake if it doesn't taste good, the wrong Celebrant will be in your photos and memories for ever!

This is also a time that we can talk about ways you can choose to celebrate your big day. I have plenty of ceremonies and wedding ideas to get things moving or I can help you write your own from scratch.

2. Legal Paperwork

The Notice of Intended Marriage
This is our first legal requirement that we must complete at least one month before your wedding day. I will need to see Passports or Birth Certificates before the wedding too.

Declaration of No Legal Impediment
Exactly what it says! i.e. You are over 18, (16 in limited circumstances); You are not related; You are not married to anybody else; You don't know of any other reason that you should legally get married.

Previous Marriage
I will need to see evidence that you are not still married!

3. Pay a Deposit
This locks me in for the day and I block the day out of my diary

4. I Email you
I will send you my comprehensive Ceremony Suggestions document. This includes all of the legal elements that we have to include and a range of different ideas including vows, readings and other elements. It will include things that you might not otherwise have thought of and gets the thought process working.

5. I write you a first draft ceremony
We then talk about ways to make it exactly what you want and, together, craft it to be perfect.

6. A few more details
Time to think about a few of the finer details...

Music - For ambiance, for entrance, whilst we are signing certificates, for exit
Witnesses - We will need two of these to sign your certificates
Plan B - Let's not turn up on the day and wonder what to do in 45° or -2°. Gale force wind is also not much fun if we are outside!

7. Final adjustments to the Ceremony

8. The Big Day
On the day of the wedding I will be there early to set up and meet the groom when he arrives, maybe help calm his nerves! When the guests and bride arrive, it’s time to enjoy the ceremony and take your vows.

9. Signing the Certificates and Register
Rings and vows have been exchanged, bride and groom have kissed. You and your chosen witnesses sign the register, making everything official. I take the official paperwork and register it. You’re married!

10. Your wedding certificate
This needs to be ordered from the Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages, and only you can do it. Order it from BDM and it will arrive in your mailbox around two weeks later. Current cost for standard certificate is $58
